Benthic Surveillance sites in the U.S.

Benthic Surveillance Project

Analyzed chemical and biological contaminant trends in sediment and fish tissue collected at 183 coastal sites from 1984 to 1993.

The database includes: sediment, fish liver and fish bile chemistry for over 100 organic and inorganic contaminants, and associated diseases in the fish livers. NOAA Fisheries partnered on this project.
