EMS Competency Training

Competency Training

Competency training is given to employees, contractors, and partners to ensure that they are able to do their job in a way that is safe, compliant and protective of the environment. These include training of employees whose job has a potential to impact the environment in a significant way, such as training for employess working in lab environments. These training modules are intended to provide a basic overview only.

 

Laboratory Safety

This training is provided by the NOAA Environmental Compliance Staff to

·         Describe the hazards that personnel may encounter during operations at laboratories  

·        Describe general safety practices and precautions to be taken to minimize exposure to hazardous substances

·        Identify the personal protective equipment that may be necessary for work in a laboratory environment and

·        Identify the emergency information that personnel should know prior to working in a laboratory environment
